USC leaning on defense to limit damage after turnovers

In the first quarter of a 38-10 victory over Oregon State on Saturday, USC watched its defense trot out onto the field, deep in its own territory.
Thank a pair of turnovers.
A muffed punt by returner Ajene Harris allowed the Beavers to take possession at the Trojans’ 29. Their drive ended when a field goal was blocked.
Another followed minutes later, a fumble by quarterback Sam Darnold. Oregon State took over at USC’s 23 and moved into the red zone
