USC corner Chris Steele receives waiver for immediate eligibility

LOS ANGELES — Florida cornerback transfer Chris Steele’s waiver for immediate eligibility was approved by the NCAA, USC head coach Clay Helton said Tuesday, clearing the way for Steele to play for the Trojans as a true freshman.
Steele, a former St. John Bosco standout, enrolled at Florida during the spring but transferred to USC in June. He will get a chance for early snaps with the Trojans.
