USC announces true freshman JT Daniels as starting quarterback

JT Daniels has been named USC’s starting quarterback, ending a weeks-long competition for the job with redshirt sophomore Matt Fink and redshirt freshman Jack Sears.
Coach Clay Helton made the announcement Sunday evening in a statement released by the school.

Helton was scheduled to meet with the quarterbacks and their families earlier in the weekend to inform them of his decision.
