Update: Ortega Highway lanes reopen after crash on Orange County side

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — A head-on crash on Ortega (74) Highway east of San Juan Capistrano Saturday night resulted in multiple critical injuries and shut down the two-lane highway for an investigation, authorities said.
The crash was reported shortly after 8:30 p.m. in the westbound lane of Ortega Highway east of Antonio Parkway, the California Highway Patrol said.
The exact number of injured was not immediately available. A CHP dispatcher told City News Service the injured were critical.
