Update: Lanes reopen on Ortega Highway

A non-injury traffic collision was blocking Ortega Highway at the Candy Store on Wednesday night, March 28, the California Highway Patrol said.
Witnesses reported a silver Toyota Avalon collided with a maroon Toyota Prius about 8:30 p.m., the CHP log said. Both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the road, also known as Highway 74, were blocked.
Other motorists stopped to assist. Lanes reopened by 10:18 p.m., Caltrans reported.
