Update: 7 drowning-related calls in less than 24 hours, OCFA says
Orange County firefighter paramedics responded to one drowning and six near-drownings in less than 24 hours between early Saturday, Aug. 26 and Sunday, Aug. 27, officials said.
In one case, an 85-year-old Placentia woman was pronounced dead by Orange County Fire Authority paramedics after a neighbor reported seeing her floating in her backyard pool Sunday at 12:10 a.m., said OCFA Capt. Steve Concialdi.
