UC Irvine coach Russ Turner demands better effort

UC Irvine men’s basketball coach Russ Turner was happy about some things after Saturday’s 74-67 victory over visiting Cal Poly in a Big West Conference game. He was bugged about other stuff.
In this case, the good news comes first. He was pleased with the contributions of freshman guard Jeron Artest and freshman forward Austin Johnson with the game on the line. Artest, son of former NBA star Metta World Peace, buried a 3-pointer and a 17-footer during crunch time. Johnson had a huge
