UC Irvine clinches baseball series with a victory over Cal Poly

IRVINE — Winning the weekend series over the course of a 14-week season remains a prime consideration when it comes time for the NCAA to fill out it’s college baseball postseason brackets.
UC Irvine hopes that tendency still applies. The Anteaters beat Cal Poly 8-0 Saturday evening, clinching the series win, their tenth in 12 series with seven sweeps.  The win moved the Anteaters into second place in the Big West at 31-14 overall and 12-5 in league play, tied with Cal Poly
