Two dead after vehicle slams into tree and burns in Santa Ana

Two people were killed after the car they were traveling in crashed into a tree and burst into flames in Santa Ana on Saturday night, authorities said.
Orange County Fire Authority firefighters were dispatched to the area of Bear Street and Alton Avenue about 9:18 p.m. on a report of a single-vehicle crash, OCFA Capt. Carlos Huerta said.
The two people in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. Information about the occupants, including age and gender, was not immediately available.
