Who gets credit, or criticism, for economic performance is always a topic for hearty debate.
In recent weeks, we’ve heard self-congratulatory platitudes from President Donald Trump and Gov. Jerry Brown for upbeat performances in the business climates they oversee. Now in a typical economic upswing, that would seem normal.
