Treasured mural, rediscovered and resurrected, will be unveiled in Santa Ana

For some 25 years, a large 2-piece canvas mural sat rolled up in the rafters of an attic in a Santa Ana auto shop.
But nobody knew that.
About five years ago that changed. One of the auto shop workers needed a tarp, so he went into the rafters and grabbed the rolled-up canvas. But when he opened it he discovered a painting. And not just any painting; it was signed by Emigdio Vasquez, an Orange County artist known by many as “El Godfather of Chicano Art.”
