Travel: How to spend a day racing around Indianapolis

Indianapolis is a top destination on Memorial Day weekend — for the Indy 500 — but as someone who isn’t a racing fanatic but curious about the culture and getting into it, I decided to visit on one of the other 51 weekends of the year.
I made it a lightning trip, flying in early in the morning to hit as many sights as I could in one full day.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum located at the speedway has many Indy 500 winners, including one vehicle that visitors can sit in.
