Transient killed while running across 710 Freeway lanes in South Gate

SOUTH GATE — A 63-year-old man was struck and killed by a Toyota Camry on the 710 Freeway in South Gate, authorities said today.
The crash occurred about 7:25 p.m. Sunday on the southbound 710 Freeway south of the South Gate railroad underpass, California Highway Patrol Officer J. Carter said.
“A pedestrian running across the lanes of traffic was struck by the Toyota Camry, causing fatal injuries to the pedestrian,” Carter said.
