Tragic and unsolved inner-city murders
In the last ten years, about 26,000 homicides committed in the United States have not led to an arrest. This fact is noted in a recent Washington Post article concerning the racial disparity between unsolved homicides involving black victims and white victims. While blacks accounted for the majority of homicide victims, arrests were made in those cases only 47 percent of the time, compared to 63 percent where the victim was white.
