One day, we might no longer have to watch for a fin sticking out of the water to know if great white sharks are lurking nearby.
Researchers have developed a new method of tracking sharks using “environmental DNA” evidence to monitor California’s shoreline, giving a glimpse at how advances in technology may one day help lifeguards and beachgoers have a better idea of when sharks are present off local waters.
