Adam Vali always keeps plenty of wine around the office.
No, he doesn’t drink on the job. But now and again, Vali, owner and president of DEB Construction, uncorks a few bottles after work for informal get-togethers with his staff.
“It kind of puts everybody at ease, and they get to know me a little bit better,” said Vali, a Stanford-trained engineer who took over a firm his father co-founded 42 years ago. “But mostly, I get to know them a little bit better
