During high school, I heard “college experience” mentioned, but I didn’t know what that meant. Is it about joining a sorority? Is it about sharing a dorm with your best friend?
As a first-generation daughter of Vietnamese immigrants, I had no one who could explain the college experience. When it came to college, I was told, “It’s good for you. You need it to succeed. Go as far as you can. Become a doctor. Become a pharmacist.”
