Three challenge Irvine mayor for seat in Nov. 3 election

A quartet of business people from four different sectors are seeking election as Irvine mayor on Nov. 3.
Longtime City Council member and a business consultant, Mayor Christina Shea is making her third bid for election to the seat; she won two-year mayoral terms in 1996 and 1998, and last year – while serving on the council – she was given the role after then-Mayor Don Wagner was elected county supervisor.
