Theater review: ‘Indecent’ shines a subtle, piercing light on dark times

“From ashes they rise.” Characters long dead, being played by actors long dead, appear onstage. And from their hands, ashes fall.
“From ashes they rise.” A cycle begins. A writer puts words on a page. A director envisions those words in three dimensions. Actors bring the dimensions to us. We see, we hear, we process. We commit our thoughts and feelings into words, sometimes back on a page.
“Indecent” is a play about a play, and about creating that play. And it
