The shaky case for ordering gun stores closed during the coronavirus outbreak
Just because something is legal doesn’t mean it’s right. The state is trying to manage the COVID-19 public health crisis. Like in any emergency, it’s forced to take drastic actions it would not normally take, like ordering everyone to stay indoors except to conduct essential activities.
As a result, gun stores were closed after being left off a list of essential businesses, prompting gun-rights groups to call the move unconstitutional.
