The LA teachers strike is actually a win for charter schools and students

Since January 14, Los Angeles teachers have been on strike—calling for higher salaries, smaller class sizes, increased support staff, and caps on charter schools. They could very well get what they’re demanding, but it doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, LA’s students and charter schools will come out ahead.
The United Teachers of Los Angeles union (UTLA) demands would cost $880 million, according to the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). This is funding that
