Taco Bell goes old school with its test vegetarian menu
While other fast food chains are trying to attract flexitarian diners with imitation red meat, for now Taco Bell is sticking with black beans.
They are the “plant-forward protein” on a dedicated vegetarian menu being tested at 200 Tacos Bells in the Dallas area.
Taco Bell’s menu has long been considered easy to hack by vegetarians, partly because its refried beans and black beans don’t have animal fat. But the chain wants to save them the trouble, according to Liz Matthew
