Swimmer Katie Ledecky returns to Irvine as a beacon in rough waters

IRVINE – Katie Ledecky remembers well her world record-setting swim in Irvine four years ago, right down to the song that blared before the women’s 400-meter freestyle final.
“It was Timber and we were rocking out, ‘It’s going down,’ ” she recalled Tuesday, briefly singing the melody. “I think everyone kind of felt like I could do it that night. …  That was a memorable one.”
