Struggling Luis Valbuena cut loose by Angels
CLEVELAND — The Angels could not wait for Luis Valbuena any more.
On Sunday morning they designated Valbuena for assignment, ending a mostly disappointing two-season run with the Angels.

Valbuena, 32, hit exactly .199 in each of his two seasons. This year, though, his OPS dropped from .727 to .588, as he wasn’t even mixing in as many homers and walks as he had last year.
