Status Update: State launches websites for all those AB 5 questions

The California Labor and Workforce Development Agency has launched a website designed to give businesses and workers detailed information on Assembly Bill 5, a new state law that closely monitors employers that hire independent contractors.The law, which goes into effect Jan. 1, is designed to protect workers who should be treated as an employee but are classified as a contractor, or a “gig worker,” by the employer.
