Squadron commander relieved of duty after showing ‘poor judgment’ during fighter jet ceremony at Miramar

Lt. Col. Ralph Featherstone was relieved as commander of Marine All Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 225 for displaying “poor judgment” while participating in a Jan. 24 ceremony marking the retirement of the F/A-18 fighter at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, officials confirmed Thursday, Jan. 30.
The retirement ceremony began with a final F/A-18 flyby which was followed by a water salute of the fighter and a gathering of past and present squadron members.
