SpaceX launches rocket carrying US Space Force satellite

HAWTHORNE — Hawthorne-based SpaceX launched a rocket carrying a US Space Force global positioning satellite into orbit Tuesday from Cape Canaveral in Florida.
The Falcon 9 rocket carrying the GPS III SV03 satellite took off at 1:10 p.m. California time. It was pushed back from an original launch time of 12:55 p.m.
