Sheriff’s deputies take on different roll during pandemic, will stimulus funds cover costs?

Lake Forest leaders are seeking $2.8 million of federal stimulus funds to cover a portion of its contract with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department from March to June, when the coronavirus pandemic ramped up and police routines were overhauled.
The funds are up for grabs via the CARES Act, a coronavirus relief bill meant, in part, to inject local governments with cash to offset pandemic-related costs and losses of income.
