Servite, with MVP-effort by freshman wrestler Marcus Medina, wins Mann Classic

HUNTINGTON BEACH – An untested freshman and a well-established senior were the standouts at the Mann Classic wrestling tournament on Saturday at Marina High School.
Servite freshman Marcus Medina came into the 48-man, two-day tournament as the No. 5 seed at 120 pounds. He pinned all five of his opponents, including a 2-minute, 45-second pin of Marina’s Mike McCoy in the championship match, making the freshman the clear choice for lower-weight MVP honors.
