‘Sense and Sensibility’ gets modern makeover at South Coast Repertory

“Sense and Sensibility” will open South Coast Repertory’s 2018-19 season on Friday, Sept. 7,  and if that seems a little déjà vu-ish, it probably means you’re at least vaguely aware that the story’s early 19th-century author never goes out of style for long.
That’s right: Jane Austen’s time has come – again. Every few years, literature’s master of relatable, female-dominated romances proves herself equal to another era.
