People in the South County who see smoke Tuesday afternoon, May 2, may be seeing the effects of a fire at Camp Pendleton, according to fire officials.
The blaze, a wildfire, is burning near one of the Marine Corps base’s ranges and is creating drift smoke that may be visible into southwestern Riverside County, such as Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, Wildomar and Lake Elsinore, according to a Cal Fire/Riverside County fire statement.
