Santa Ana Unified creating a K-8 by moving elementary school, upsetting some parents

SANTA ANA —  Javier Hernandez walked his three boys to Romero Cruz Elementary Friday morning, ushering them in with a good-bye kiss to each.
In the fall, to the dismay of many parents at this small campus, those drop-offs and picks-ups will take place almost a mile away.
The Santa Ana Unified School District alerted parents last week it will be transferring the students to Spurgeon Intermediate School, where officials are looking to create a K-8, dual-immersion school.
