San Onofre State Beach, including Lower Trestles, closed to public amid coronavirus concerns

If you were hoping to sneak down to Lower Trestles or San Onofre State Beach as this week’s swell hits, don’t bother making the trek.
State Parks officials announced they are closing the popular surf breaks and the beach to the public, effective at 7 p.m. on April 7, according to Orange Coast Superintendent Kevin Pearsall.
The closure was announced just before a new swell hits the region, expected to bring 4- foot to 6-foot waves by Thursday and Friday, according to Surfline.com.
