Sam Darnold happy with more options in USC passing game

LOS ANGELES — Sam Darnold smiled as if to take a sigh of relief.
Darnold, USC’s star quarterback, stood in front of about a dozen reporters in a Coliseum tunnel on Saturday after a win over Oregon State.
He faced a series of questions about a pair of turnovers — he was intercepted and lost a fumble in the first half — and about leading an offense that looked uneven in recent weeks.
