Rye fire increases to 65 containment, remains steady at 6,000 acres

The Rye fire increased to 65 percent containment, but remained at 6,049 acres, authorities said Saturday.
“Overnight we continued to make progress,” said Rich Brocchini, spokesman for Cal Fire. “We’re continuing to mop up today.”
Containment on the Rye fire, which began around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, jumped from 50 percent Friday night. One structure had been destroyed.
