Rye fire expected to be fully contained by Friday, officials say

The Rye fire in the Santa Clarita area remained 93 percent contained Monday morning and full containment wasn’t expected until Friday, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said in an update posted after 7 a.m.
The fire hadn’t expanded overnight. It has burned 6,049 acres, destroyed six structures and damaged three others. One person, a firefighter, was injured during the fire. Evacuation orders were lifted Thursday.
