Rubio’s in Placentia heavily damaged in fire

PLACENTIA Firefighters are investigating a Wednesday fire that caused significant damage at Rubio’s restaurant, authorities said.
The blaze at Rubio’s in a strip mall at 127 East Yorba Linda Boulevard was reported around 6:50 a.m., said Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Larry Kurtz.
When firefighters arrived, heavy smoke was coming from the restaurant. It appears the fire began at the rear of the eatery, Kurtz said.
