Roundup: Los Alamitos notches first victory behind freshman quarterback

Los Alamitos’ football team notched its first victory Friday behind freshman quarterback Malachi Nelson.
Nelson made his first start and tossed touchdowns to Noah Kelly and Giovanni De Leon to help the Griffins defeat Carson 27-0 at Cerritos College.
Nelson, a 6-foot-3, 175-pounder who has been offered by Auburn, was one of five freshmen who started for Los Alamitos (1-3).
De Leon and fellow senior Jaiden Mitchell each recorded rushing touchdowns for the Griffins, who were coming off a bye
