Rockslide cleared for El Dorado firefighters; blaze doesn’t grow overnight

Caltrans crews cleared away a rockslide along Highway 38 in the El Dorado fire‘s swath that had forced emergency vehicles to make detours, authorities said on Monday, Sept. 21.
Fire activity was moderate overnight because of lower temperatures and higher humidity, they said, with the fire’s footprint in the San Bernardino Mountains unchanged since the night before: 22,576 acres have been charred, containment  was at 59%.
