Robot build-and-race event in Laguna Niguel offers kids a hands-on science lesson

LAGUNA NIGUEL — Ready, set, robot! Little, handmade robots waddled toward a finish line on Saturday morning, Dec. 15, with their similarly little creators cheering them on.
Future Kids OC, a nonprofit organization that promotes “accurate and effective” science education for children, invited Orange County children and parents to their Laguna Niguel-based lab to work together to make a small robot with parts provided from a Tin Can Robot kit and a Coca-Cola can.
