Resident voices prevail; Laguna Niguel rejects 60-home SunPointe development

LAGUNA NIGUEL —  The City Council agreed with dozens of residents that a 60-home development proposed on one of the last parcels of vacant, useable land in southeast Laguna Niguel just wasn’t a fit with the surrounding neighborhoods.
The council refused to amend the city’s general plan to allow the larger development, but did sign off on environmental studies supporting the construction of 35 homes.
