Rescuer dies during search for Irvine hiker on Mt. Baldy

A member of a search-and-rescue team who was looking for a missing Irvine hiker on Mt. Baldy was found dead Saturday, Dec. 14, after he became separated from his partner, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.
A search by air found him unresponsive on ice and snow. A medic who was lowered to the victim discovered him deceased.
“The cause and circumstances surrounding this incident are unknown and investigators are working to determine exactly what occurred,” the S
