Report: Boxer Victor Ortiz charged with sexual assault

The Ventura County Star reported Tuesday that former world champion boxer Victor Ortiz has been charged with three counts of sexual assault, including forcible rape.
The newspaper reported that the charges stem from an incident that occurred March 19, and listed the Oxnard Police Department as the investigating agency.
Ortiz is a former welterweight world champion out of Ventura. He is scheduled to take on John Molina Jr. of Covina on Sunday at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario.
