Rams pick rookie Sam Sloman to be their new kicker

The first time a game comes down to a Rams field-goal attempt this season, the pressure will rest on the right foot of a rookie.
Sam Sloman, a seventh-round draft pick in April, won the open competition to be the Rams’ new kicker when the team waived Lirim Hajrullahu and Austin MacGinnis on Friday.
Hajrullahu, a CFL veteran, and MacGinnis, who played in the AAF and XFL, were among 17 players cut, the Rams announced on their website.
The cut list included John Kelly, the running back who ma
