Rabid bat found alive near Kohl’s in Seal Beach

A bat found Sunday evening, Oct. 6, near a Kohl’s department store on Seal Beach Boulevard in Seal Beach has tested posted for rabies, the Orange County Health Care Agency announced Thursday, Oct. 10.
The bat was found alive at 8 p.m. at 12345 Seal Beach Blvd. The Health Care Agency is advising anyone who may have come into physical contact with the bat, or saw someone else in contact with it, to call its Communicable Disease Control Division at 714-834-8180 (between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.) or
