Plan to end Orange County’s riverbed homeless encampment to come before board
Two Orange County supervisors are proposing a plan to dismantle the county’s largest and most visible homeless encampment, while making it more habitable in the interim.
The proposal, filed Wednesday by Supervisors Andrew Do and Todd Spitzer to be discussed at next week’s board meeting, would link the estimated 500 homeless people who live along the Santa Ana River with programs aimed at helping them find permanent housing.
