Placentia puts firefighters for new department through six-week academy

With just weeks to go before launching the new Placentia Fire and Life Safety Department, the city has been putting recently hired firefighters, captains and other employees to the test with a fire academy program.
Everyone hired already has some experience in the fire service, but the academy is a chance to brush up their skills, get to know their new colleagues and start learning to work as a team.
