Pedestrian struck, critically injured by van on 55 freeway

SANTA ANA  A man laying down in a lane on the 55 freeway was critically injured when a van struck him early Friday, according to authorities.
The incident was reported around 1:20 a.m. near Edinger Avenue, said California Highway Patrol Officer Florentino Olivera.
The man was reported to have been laying down in the slow lane when he was struck by a white minivan, he said.
He sustained major injuries and was transported by ambulance to Orange County Global Medi
