Pedestrian dies when hit by train in Placentia

A woman was killed Thursday, Nov. 22, when she was struck by a freight train in Placentia.
The Placentia Police Department identified the woman as Maria Moreno, 56, of Placentia.
Shortly before noon, Moreno was walking south in the middle of the 1700 block of Atwood Avenue when she was hit by the westbound BNSF train as she crossed the south track, a news release said. Moreno was found south of the tracks and north of Atwood.
