Patrick Beverley sets the tone for Clippers, the ‘best team in L.A.’

LOS ANGELES — As this season was just getting going, Patrick Beverley shared a prediction with rookie guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
“(There) was seven people in here media day, I remember like it was yesterday, and I told Shai, ‘Shai, look at the room, there’s seven people here. Watch at the end of the year,’ ” Beverley recalled after Monday’s 113-105 victory over the Lakers, whom the Clippers now have defeated 23 times in their last 27 meetings.
